About Us
Eco-Dipes was started over the summer of 2005 while we were expecting our second little boy! Felisa started sewing diapers in preparation of our latest bundle of joy. She did all the research on fabrics to use and all the latest inventions! She became a fabric addict traveling all over the Southeast looking for the best quality fabrics. And then I stopped her!
Let me introduce myself, I am Damien, Felisa's husband and supporter of Felisa's ventures offering her encouragement and confidence with all of her wackiest creations. However, in the case of our son, I wanted something different. I wanted an ALL-NATURAL, breathable alternative to the prefolds with plastic pants idea. I also wanted something that was EASY-to-use, ultra SOFT, absorbent, trim and affordable. Anything that touches my baby's bum, had to be unbleached and all-natural. Additionally, to keep the temperature down, I wanted a breathable "Gore-Tex" like material to serve as the waterproof material -- NO PLASTIC!
So...it was back to the drawing board, but not for long! Felisa took the challenge and starting researching the uses and advantages of unbleached flannel, Hemp fabrics as well as wool (which actually isn't scratchy like I thought it would be) and surprisingly BAMBOO!! Being the academician she already is, she also dabbled in researching water vapor and wicking properties and capillary action to better understand absorbency and breathability in fabrics. You will find her conclusions in the Eco-Dipes products. If it's suitable for my kids to wear, we are offering it to you, as well.
Don't get me wrong, Felisa runs the show here and you'll find the best first quality diapers on the market! Our concern is not being a prized seamstress, but a responsible parent both financially to our children and their financial future but also to our children's children in their global future! We want KIDS IN CLOTH!
Eco-Dipes are constructed and designed in our home by Felisa. We ensure that the construction of the garment is sound and will hold up to many many washings and children. You may disagree with the stitch colors or the serging isn't "Cute", but every one of our products will stand up to repeated use and abuse! WE GUARANTEE IT!
